Sometimes the most authentic moments come from simply letting life unfold and being there to capture it. That was the driving idea behind my latest project: showcasing the day-to-day life of a bike shop mechanic at Via Ciclante.
With my camera in hand, I followed Nick, the talented mechanic, as he worked his magic. The goal was to immerse viewers in the genuine atmosphere of the shop, capturing the unique sounds and sights that define a bike mechanic’s world. Every creak of tension from a wrench, the precise sound of threads being threaded, the hiss of air compression hoses, the rhythmic spinning of a cassette hub, and the secure clamping of equipment – these are the everyday symphonies of a bike shop.
Nick, a true magician in his element, can make anything work. His philosophy, “Everything is a hack,” perfectly encapsulates his innovative approach and the improvisational nature of his craft. This video, much like Nick’s work, was put together with a blend of skill and spontaneity, creating an authentic snapshot of his daily routine.
The idea was not just to showcase Nick’s technical prowess, but to highlight the passion and dedication that go into every repair and adjustment. By capturing these candid moments, the video paints a vivid picture of the meticulous care and expertise that define the Via Ciclante experience.
Through this project, we get to see Nick in his element, working seamlessly amidst the hustle and bustle of the shop. It’s a reminder that sometimes, the best content comes from letting the story unfold naturally, capturing the essence of real life and the day-to-day dedication of those who make it all happen.
